As CIO, big data manager, and digital innovation manager Arian has brought the Amsterdam University of the Arts to the forefront of digital innovation. Through the intense use of video and collaborative software in education the AHK has become a frontrunner in digital education in the arts and through these capabilities, it was uniquely prepared for the COVID crisis.

Previously, he built the big data environment for the Almere Healthcare Group – a unique organization in the Netherlands building population-based healthcare through the merger of primary and tertiary care. Arian continued in building an information management department and ultimately reorganizing and managing the complete IT function. Arian was able to implement one of the first integral healthcare management information systems and successfully implemented the first in the nation digital patient-doctor platforms – with a participation rate of over 20% of all residents, making the Almere Healthcare Group a national frontrunner in digital healthcare innovation.

Arian is a chairman for the parents’ council of a children's daycare organization and chairman of the school board in Volendam, his hometown. Aside from his specialties in big data, technology, healthcare and education, Arian is deeply interested in nuclear energy and the unique potential it has in solving the 21st century problems.

He earned a master’s degree in Medical Information Sciences at the University of Amsterdam specializing in early artificial intelligence systems in healthcare.
