Nūxsen is developing new direct air capture (DAC) innovations which are superior to conventional technologies in capital and operating costs.
We will deploy DAC plants which will remove large amounts of CO2 from ambient air using sustainable energy, and permanently sequester it underground and in non-reemitting products.
Our technology can reduce the cost /tCO2 captured significantly because it does not require heat, pressure, or water.
Nūxsen VCRx and VCRx-2 Sorbent Systems
Nūxsen’s Voltage Cycled Redox (VCRx) and VCRx-2 technologies (patents pending) combine novel electrodes and electrolytes into our reactors. Our research and development focus is emergent electrochemical technology.
Nūxsen CarbonJet and SlipStream Reactors
Nūxsen’s CarbonJet and SlipStream reactors (patents pending) combine electrochemical technology for faster cycle times, stable liquid-free sorbents, and high airflow capabilities superior to leading technologies.
Relentless Innovation + Development
Moving the needle on DAC technology will take many iterations and many bright minds. Nūxsen is building on proven electrochemical technology with an innovation pipeline of numerous primary patentable technologies.
Our engineering team is working with industry and academic partners around the world to bring our systems to commercial readiness.
Permanent Sequestration
When captured, CO2 will be permanently sequestered in approved class VI wells and sold as a raw material. Our CO2 will be used for non-reemitting products such as advanced fuels and building materials.
Why DAC?
DAC is essential because electrical grids and hard-to-abate sectors are not projected to reach net-zero emission in time to meet climate goals.
Also, once decarbonization goals are met, we still need to remove nearly two centuries of above-trend emissions to restore the fragile balance of our planet’s ecosystems.
Human activity causes over 36 gigatons of CO2 emissions per year. DAC will help to offset this, along with many other technologies which will all play a role.
All planned scenarios which result in meeting or exceeding climate goals include DAC as a part of the solution.
