DAC
Nuxsen is developing novel direct air capture (DAC) carbon dioxide removal (CDR) systems.
Carbon capture use and storage (CCUS) solutions will be critical to achieving climate goals. Since ambient atmospheric air contains only about 420+ CO2 parts per million, our facilities need to be large and powerful in order to make a significant difference.
VLTx Technology
Nuxsen's VLTx model uses sustainable energy to filter CO2 using a high-efficiency closed-loop liquid sorbent system.
Human activity causes over 36 billion tons of CO2 emissions each year. Various CDR initiatives are underway and have been recognized by the IPCC to be an important component to achieving 2050 climate goals.
VLT Alpha
Our Very Large Tube (VLT) Alpha design is an innovative DAC CDR solution which will use proprietary technologies to filter and isolate CO2 from ambient air moving in a high-efficiency pattern. Our solution uses solid sorbents positioned for maximum adsorption.
When captured, CO2 will be permanently sequestered or reused for industrial applications. CO2 can be sold to companies like CarbonCure Technologies which uses liquid CO2 as an input to concrete, Dimensional Energy which uses CO2 to make aviation fuel, or MCi Carbon which uses CO2 to make cement, concrete, and plasterboard.
Our Big Green Dot (BGD) will incorporate hundreds of VLTs, powered by a small modular reactor (SMR). The VLTs will be installed in a large formation of concentric circles, with green space in between. Each row will be positioned for high-efficiency airflow, along with excess water and CO2, to create conditions conducive to the growth of crops or vegetation. This configuration will enhance the natural carbon capture of the Dot and potentially provide a revenue stream that could contribute to its commercial viability.
